Dear family, friends and colleagues,
It is this time of year again!
Like you, I support many charities. However, I choose to ask for your support only for this one: Meals on Wheels.
If you knew an elderly neighbor was unable to cook tonight, you would bring a meal over, wouldn't you? Of course, you would! Do you know there are many elders who go hungry? Some of them have to choose between food or medicine. I am aware of this weekly as I volunteer at a Senior Center and monthly as I attend the Citizens Advisory Board meetings in Turners Falls. This is NOT right!
That is why I am walking again this year even with a healing knee in the Annual Meals on Wheels Walkathon on April 30th. I may be a bit slower but I will complete my 3 miles. Please join me in supporting our elders and pledge your financial support today.
With your help we can continue to help our elderly folks get a hot meal delivered by a kind volunteer driver. That driver may be the only person that client will see that day. He provides a sort of safety check at the same time. The number of people served is increasing. We want to be able to serve all those in need. We do not want to have a waiting list.
The Meals on Wheel program also delivers hot meals to area Senior Centers. The meals have improved. This is quite a challenge as we all know with prices going up all the time.
Know that every penny of your pledge stays in the community. Meals on Wheels delivers more than 120,000 meals a year to elders in 30 towns in Franklin County plus to congregate meals sites.
So please, join me in supporting Meals on Wheels.
Thank you,
Nicole
If you knew your elderly neighbor was too frail or sick to cook for themselves tonight, would you bring them a meal? Of course you would! You'd simply want to help. That's why I am walking in the annual Meals on Wheels Walkathon on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Please join me in supporting our elders and pledge your financial support today.
With your help, we can ensure that our homebound neighbors will get a hot, balanced meal delivered by a compassionate volunteer driver in a manner that protects their privacy and preserves their dignity. Your pledge means that Meals on Wheels can say "yes" to every elder who requests their help.
Every penny of your pledge stays in the community. Meals on Wheels delivers an average of 550 meals every weekday to elders in 30 towns, including all of Franklin County and the North Quabbin. So please join me in supporting Meals on Wheels.
Thank you!
